Tisha B’Av, or the 9th day of Av, is a major day of mourning and fasting. Often regarded as the saddest day in Judaism, it commemorates several tragedies throughout early Jewish history—specifically the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem (586 B.C. and A.D. 70). Join us at a special screening of “The Survivor’s Revenge.” This is the true story of Josef Lewkowicz whose commitment after surviving the Holocaust was to bring to justice some of the worst men in Jewish history. He was also instrumental in reuniting hundreds of hidden Jewish children throughout Poland with their families and their Jewish lives. Following the film, Rabbi Shmuel Greenwald will lead a meaningful discussion exploring eye-opening themes that connect deeply with this national mourning of the day. Suitable for ages 13+
